Hello everybody! We are so excited to open up our little flower farm to you! Wander through the flowers and create your own masterpiece.

Visiting the farm

I’m probably more guilty than most. Scouring the internet for the perfect non toxic bassinet...only to find out he wouldn’t sleep in it!
Laboring over having all the “right stuff” on my baby registry... only to realize how much I didn’t need!😂
In our culture we focus so much on all the wonderful STUFF baby might need ...and once we have baby, we realize how little we really needed.
What if instead of all the STUFF, we focused on how to support mom and baby postpartum... maybe with meals, pampering, and rest. What if we said ENOUGH to the “bounce back, did-you-lose-the-baby-weight-yet culture. I find this bounce back expectation ridiculous because a new mom literally freaking gave birth! If she’s breastfeeding she is responsible for the nourishment of her child through her own body! You don’t get nutrients out of thin air! Of any time this ain’t the time to restrict calories and try to lose weight! Rant over.

What you really need postpartum for baby:

1. You and your hubby or whoever you have for support. I can’t emphasize this enough! Baby needs mom 24/7...something most people don’t tell you:)

2. A Queen or King size bed
If you can do organic, great!

3. A blanket and some burp clothes

4. Some diapers or not if you do EC

5. Car seat

6. Maybe a few outfits for baby but hopefully you can mostly do skin to skin!

7. Optional: baby wrap

8. umm that’s it.

9. Invest all the money you just saved in mutual funds...jk but really, you could save it for baby!

And that about wraps it up.

What do babies want most?
Cribs? Toys? Pacifiers? Cute clothes? Bouncers? Rockers?
Nah Nope. They want us. They want us to be present with them. They want to be a part of the details in our lives. They want to be involved. They want to be loved and listened to...and no store bought item can do that.

I have a confession. I have a pumpkin obsession. I plan on growing myself all the pumpkins I want in the future!! I’ve been known to be stingy with my pumpkins😂
This wheelbarrow cart was restored by @mccollough.don
It was used on the McCollough Dairy here in Nampa back in the day, as was the milk can. Dad has shared how growing up they used to put the full milk cans out by the road to be picked up. Being connected to farm history is important. What stories these farm tools could tell!

The photo session took place after a long day and I’d thought I’d made a bad life decision trying to fit too much in on one day.😂...especially with a baby!
But she was AMAZING and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Jack is a teething over-achiever😂
He started teething around 4 months and now at 11 months has eight teeth!
Those little teeth have to pop thru, but sometimes it’s so hard!!

Here are some life savers for mom and dad and especially baby!

It’s helpful to remember, teething is really hard for the baby...they are not trying to be difficult for us. Extra skin to skin time, lots of nursing and cuddles...just think how you want extra love when you are sick!

Also feeding baby bone broth will help build strong bones! And make sure you and baby are getting plenty of mineral rich foods, especially if you are nursing!

Camilla by @boironusa is amazing!
It’s a homeopathic liquid. It’s great for calming and soothing baby. It brings teething relief and helps with irritability:)

Raw amber necklace. The oils in these necklaces absorb into the skin and help calm baby. Make sure you are getting authentic raw amber. Many mom’s swear by these! I wasn’t sure if it worked but they are cute looking surfer dude necklaces 😂so I kept it on him. When I took it off he got grumpy!
So it seems it was working!

@punkinbuttbaby has a soothing teething oil that Jack loves!
Plus he loves chewing on the bottle itself...

And last but definitely not least @youngliving tummygize oil diluted in a carrier oil and applied with a roller is a LIFE SAVER. I call it magic oil!
When some babies teeth they get tummy trouble due to all the saliva:(
I roll this on Jack’s tummy in a clockwise direction to help relax his tummy and release gas.
It’s amazing how fast the crying has stopped!
I’m very conservative when it comes to essential oils and babies but it’s so helpful when you can seem to comfort the crying!!

What teething helps do you love??

Switching to non toxic products takes time! It’s a marathon!

I’m always evaluating what we use and slowly switching to a less toxic version.
This month we switched from bleached wax paper to unbleached from @azurestandard

Please don’t stress yourself out trying to switch everything all at once! A slow steady progress will leave your wallet happier too;)

Bug Spray: lavender essential oil diluted in a carrier oil.
@roseuncharted for an herbal bug spray or
Quantum Health has a buzz away natural bug spray

Flu support: instead of getting a flu shot, boost the immune system with immune boosters like fire cider, and elderberry syrup. My friend @mrsporkchop444 has a great elderberry syrup!
Keeping vitamin A (retinol) up can help too. Foods like beef liver can be helpful here.
@perfectsupplements has a desiccated beef liver as does @ancestralsupplements (if eating cooked liver is too much to think about)
Also a basic foods first approach is wise. We can’t turn to supplements to fix a crappy diet. It won’t work in the long run.

Ascorbic Acid: So many of us take vitamin C this time of year but when you look at the label its ascorbic acid! This depletes bioavailabile copper in our bodies! So please eat foods rich in vitamin C or take a food based vitamin C complex like @paleovalley carries or @pure_synergy

Tylenol and polysporin: Tylenol can lower glutathione levels but we don’t want our babies to be in pain! @the_good_inside has a lavender cbd balm that we use for any bumps or scrapes or you could make your own!

Also if you need relief for your teething baby @boironusa Camilla is AMAZING!

Synthetic eczema cream: @tubbytodd has an All Over Ointment that is paraben, gluten, dairy, color, and artificial fragrance free!

Plastic toys: sticks, rocks (big enough not to swallow), real stuff around the house, @montikids learning toys, cardboard boxes...seriously babies love these things...many times more then the toy inside the box!
